In what can’t be considered a surprising move, the Arizona Cardinals announced on Wednesday that starting quarterback Carson Palmer will miss this week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Carson Palmer is out for #AZvsSF and won't make the trip to San Francisco.

Palmer suffered a concussion in last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams and didn’t return to the game (more on that here).
It was always a long shot that Palmer would pass through the league’s concussion protocol during a short week.
With Palmer out of action, the one-win Cardinals will have to go with backup quarterback Drew Stanton in Santa Clara on Thursday night.
Battling for last place with San Francisco after the quarter point of the season can’t be seen as good news for the Cardinals. Having to do so without their starting quarterback magnifies this even further.
Arizona is riding a two-game losing streak heading into Thursday’s game.
