Bulls hold on to end 76ers’ six-game win streak

Nikola Vucevic scored 23 points, Coby White added 24 points, nine assists and eight rebounds and the Chicago Bulls defeated the host Philadelphia 76ers 108-104 on Monday.

White scored at least 20 for a career-best sixth straight game.

DeMar DeRozan added 15 points, Patrick Williams had 13 and Jevon Carter chipped in with 12. Alex Caruso finished with 10 for the Bulls, who continued to play without injured guard Zach LaVine.

The Bulls led 105-98 with 1:33 left after Vucevic hit a 3-pointer and then held off a late Sixers rally.

Joel Embiid led the Sixers with 40 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and two blocked shots.

Embiid has compiled at least 30 points and 10 rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Tyrese Maxey added 29 points for the Sixers, who had their six-game winning streak snapped.

Trailing 106-104, Embiid missed a chance to tie the score when he missed in the lane with 6.3 seconds remaining.

Kelly Oubre Jr. capped a 9-0 run to open the fourth quarter with a thunderous dunk as the Sixers closed within 81-78.

Andre Drummond responded with a runner in the lane for an 83-78 Bulls lead with 9:04 left.

Vucevic posted up and scored to complete a 10-0 run for a 97-89 advantage with 4:16 to go.

The Bulls went ahead 41-31 with 5:27 left in the second quarter after Williams’ dunk.

The Sixers closed within 44-38 with 3:29 remaining in the first half after De’Anthony Melton grabbed an offensive rebound and scored.

The Bulls led 49-38 after Williams hit a 3-pointer from the wing with 2:43 left.

DeRozan hit two mid-range jumpers in the final minute and Chicago pulled out to a 55-44 advantage at halftime. White paced the Bulls with 16 points.
Embiid shot 8-of-14 and led the Sixers with 23.

The Sixers took a 61-59 lead when Maxey knocked down a 3-pointer with 7:19 left in the third.

The Bulls regained a 70-63 lead when Vucevic hit a short runner and then added a 3-pointer with 4:17 remaining.

Carter hit a trey with 4.1 seconds left and the Bulls led 81-69 at the end of the third.
