Bucks’ Michael Beasley out at least three games with hyperextended knee

The Milwaukee Bucks have announced that forward Michael Beasley will be out for at least three games with a hyperextended knee.

After what initially looked like a gruesome knee injury, this is welcome news for Milwaukee. Beasley has been a positive contributor off the bench for the Bucks this season, averaging 20.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per 36 minutes on 54.4 percent shooting from the field and 42.1 percent shooting from 3.

The former No. 2 overall pick has done a nice job rehabilitating what seemed to be a failed career in the last two seasons, with successful stints in Houston and now Milwaukee.

The injury could result in increased playing time for Thon Maker, this year’s No. 10 overall pick. Maker’s 137 minutes in February were the most the 20-year old has played of any month this season. More playing time will help Maker develop the raw talent that¬†caused Milwaukee to pick him in the top 10, which many considered a reach at the time.
