As everyone watched Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald wreck the Kansas City Chiefs onĀ Monday Night Football, Hall of Fame linebacker and Chicago Bears legend Brian Urlacher weighed in on who he thinks is the best defensive player in the NFL.

Urlacher responded to ESPN analyst Booger McFarland talking about Donald as the best defensive player in the league. Urlacher took exception to this and clearly believes Bears edge rusher Khalil Mack is the NFL’s top defender.

It’s likely there’s just a bit of bias here from Urlacher, who spent his entire career in Chicago and clearly has some favoritism for his fellow Bears linebackers.

Mack is a phenomenal player and he can wreck offenses just like Donald can. However, Donald is routinely attacked by double teams on the interior offensive line yet he still leads the NFL in sacks.

Donald is the best player in the NFL, and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year even has a case for the NFL’s MVP award this season.
