The Milwaukee Brewers reinstated Luis Urias from the 60-day injured list on Monday after their starting infielder missed 58 games with a hamstring strain.

Urias was injured on Opening Day running to first base at the Chicago Cubs.

In corresponding moves, the Brewers optioned infielder Mike Brosseau to Triple-A Nashville and transferred first baseman Darin Ruf to the 60-day IL to open up a spot on the 40-man roster.

Urias is in the lineup at third base and batting sixth against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night.

Urias went 0-for-4 in the opener on March 30. He’s a .238 hitter with 45 home runs in 394 games with the San Diego Padres (2018-19) and Brewers.

Ruf was injured Friday night after suffering a deep laceration to his right knee, which required stitches. He ran into the metal cylinder that holds the field tarp chasing after a fly ball in foul territory. He was batting .192 in 11 games with Milwaukee.

Brosseau is batting .205 with four homers in 29 games with the big-league club.
