Brandin Cooks won’t be traded, promises Sean McVay

Despite putting up numbers in his first few NFL seasons most could only dream of, Brandin Cooks was traded not once, but twice. If Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has his way, that’s never going to happen again.

Speaking to media on Tuesday morning in Atlanta, McVay was asked about the twice-traded receiver. He responded by saying, “I can’t say enough good things about Brandin Cooks. And I guarantee you this, we’re not trading him,” per Lindsay Jones of The Athletic.

Starting in his second season, back in 2015 with the New Orleans Saints, Cooks emerged as one of the best big-play receivers in the league. In the four seasons since that time, he’s averaged 77 receptions for 1,149 yards per season and has hauled in 29 touchdowns.

This past year in Los Angeles, Cooks has been a key player for the Rams hauling in 80 receptions for 1,204 yards and five scores.

He was traded from New Orleans to New England before the 2017 season due to a reported clash in opinion about Drew Brees. Bill Belichick had him for a season before landing a nice haul in return this past year. Now he’ll face Belichick and Co. in Super Bowl LIII.
