Boo Buie scored 26 points and Northwestern held on for an 84-83 Big Ten victory against No. 15 Indiana on Sunday afternoon in Bloomington, Ind.

Chase Audige made five free throws in the final 46 seconds and finished with 19 points while Ty Berry and Robbie Beran added 13 each for the Wildcats (12-3, 3-1), who led by as many as 17. Berry had 11 rebounds and Audige had eight assists and six steals.

Northwestern is 3-1 in the Big Ten for just the third time in the last 56 seasons. The Wildcats also own wins against Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State in the same season for the first time since 1967-68.

Jalen Hood-Schifino poured in a game-high 33 points for Indiana (10-5, 1-3), which played without starters Xavier Johnson and Race Thompson. Trayce Jackson-Davis played all 40 minutes and finished with 18 points, 23 rebounds, eight assists and four blocks.

Northwestern reeled off 10 straight points in less than two minutes — a run started and ended by Berry 3-pointers from the corner — to seize a 19-9 lead at the 14:11 mark.

Northwestern built the lead to 34-17 with 8:28 left in the half on back-to-back dunks by Matt Nicholson, but Davis sparked an Indiana rally. He drew a double team in the post and dished to Malik Reneau for a layup, swatted a Berry layup off the board and fed Northwestern transfer Miller Kopp for a 3-pointer to chop the margin to 34-24 and force an NU timeout.

Indiana’s run continued after the timeout as Davis set up Trey Galloway and Hood-Schifino for 3-pointers to cap a 13-1 spree that pulled the Hoosiers within 35-30.

Davis’ driving layup with seven seconds left gave him 10 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in the first half, but Nicholson beat him downcourt and rammed home a dunk that gave Northwestern a 41-34 lead at the break.

Indiana never got closer than seven points until the final minute as the Wildcats boosted their lead to 59-43 on a pair of Buie free throws with 12:15 to go.

Hood-Schifino scored nine points in the final 63 seconds and Galloway banked a meaningless half-court shot at the buzzer to forge the final score.
