BetBoom, PSG.LGD stay perfect at DreamLeague Season 20

BetBoom Team and PSG.LGD improved to 3-0 during Sunday’s action at Group Stage 2 of DreamLeague Season 20.

BetBoom Team swept last-place Team Aster 2-0, and PSG.LGD survived 2-1 against Evil Geniuses to maintain their respective perfect records.

Also Sunday, Talon Esports assumed sole possession of third place with a 2-0 win over 9Pandas, and Gaimin Gladiators swept Team Spirit 2-0.

Four days remain in a seven-day single round robin to determine which four teams will advance to the playoff round.

Sixteen Dota 2 teams from around the world were invited to DreamLeague Season 20 to compete for a $1 million prize pool. The winner will receive $300,000 and the runner-up will earn $175,000, with the top two finishers also qualifying for the Riyadh Masters later this year.

Group Stage 1 went from last Sunday through Wednesday, with a single round-robin format and all matches best-of-two. The top four teams from each group advanced to Group Stage 2 and formed one single group of eight, featuring best-of-three matches. The top four finishers from Group Stage 2 will qualify for a double-elimination playoff stage June 24-25.

On Sunday, BetBoom Team beat Aster in 46 minutes on red and 47 minutes on green. Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko of Russia had a combined kills-deaths-assists (K-D-A) ratio of 18-2-11 for BetBoom.

PSG.LGD opened its match with a lightning-quick 15-minute win on green, but Evil Geniuses countered by winning in 44 minutes on green. On the decisive third map, Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang of Malaysia posted a 10-1-5 K-D-A to help PSG.LGD come away with a 29-minute win on red.

Talon beat 9Pandas in 50 minutes on green and 48 minutes on red. Indonesia’s Rafli “Mikoto” Rahmanrang up 26 kills, just four deaths and 26 assists to carry Talon.

Gaimin Gladiators beat Spirit in 33 minutes and 53 minutes, both on green. Quinn “Quinn” Callahan had 15 kills and 19 assists for GG.
