The Chicago Bears placed standout defensive tackle Akiem Hicks on the COVID-19 list on Thursday.

The 32-year-old Hicks is one of 10 players on the list after the Bears removed quarterback Andy Dalton and defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. from it earlier Thursday.

Hicks missed four games with an ankle injury before returning in Monday night’s 17-9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He had five tackles and two sacks in the game, his first since Nov. 8.

Hicks has 23 tackles and 3.5 sacks in eight games this season. The 32-year-old has 40.5 career sacks in 137 games (109) over 10 seasons with the New Orleans Saints (2012-15), New England Patriots (2015) and Bears.

Hicks recorded 23 sacks over a three-season stretch (2016-18) and was a Pro Bowl selection in 2018.

The other Chicago players on the COVID-19 list are running back Ryan Nall, receivers Allen Robinson II and Isaiah Coulter, tight ends Jesse James and Jesper Horsted, defensive end Bilal Nichols, linebacker Joel Iyiebuniwe, cornerback Jaylon Johnson and safety Tashaun Gipson Sr.

Meanwhile, starting quarterback Justin Fields missed Thursday’s practice with an ankle injury. He was a limited participant on Wednesday.

Dalton, who is dealing with injuries to his groin and left hand, was a full participant.

The Bears (4-10) visit the Seattle Seahawks (5-9) on Sunday.
