The Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League announced in a press release on Wednesday that they have acquired the rights to former NBA All-Star Baron Davis.

Davis, 36, hasn’t suited up in the Association since a brief stint with the New York Knicks back in 2011-12.

He’s most-famously known for being an integral member of the Golden State Warriors “We Believe” team back in 2006-07. That season saw Davis average 20.1 points, 8.1 assists and an NBA-leading 2.1 assists.

Davis earned All-Star appearances with the Charlotte Hornets in 2001-02 and New Orleans Hornets in 2003-04.

Davis himself confirmed that he’s returning to the professional ranks on Twitter:

Whether this will lead to Davis receiving another shot in the NBA is anyone’s guess.

Let’s just hope he isn’t abducted by aliens before suiting up for his first game. That would be a major bummer.
