Puerto Rican rapper/singer Bad Bunny’s agency, Rimas Sports, is in trouble with the MLB Players Association again.

According to ESPN, the top baseball agent at Rimas Sports, William Arroyo, has had his MLBPA certification revoked following an investigation into various complaints received from other agents regarding improper benefits being paid out.

The MLBPA quickly informed each of Arroyo’s clients about their decision, and Rimas Sports has since put out a statement addressing the issue.

“At Rimas Sports, we uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity of our industry. Out of respect for an ongoing process within the context of the MLBPA Agent Regulations, we will refrain from making any comments at this time. We remain committed to continue serving our clients with excellence.”

Both Arroyo and Rimas Sports have the option to appeal the decision, but it is not known whether they’ll pursue further action at this time.

As mentioned, this is not the first time Bad Bunny’s agency has been in hot water. The first incident came just a week after the agency launched in April of 2023. At that time, the MLBPA had evidence of the company offering players cash and other various gifts, incentivizing them to change agencies. Obviously, this is a no-no.

Rimas Sports has primarily built a client base that focuses on young Latin American baseball players, with some of their clients including catchers Francisco Alvarez and Diego Cartaya to name a few.

Not only has Arroyo lost his MLBPA certification, several other Rimas Sports executives who were not certified agents are also now barred from serving on the players’ behalf going forward. Further attempts to obtain certification for those specific executives are expected to be denied.
