Austin Seferian-Jenkins lands one-year deal with Patriots, per report

After spending one year in Jacksonville, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins is headed to greener pastures to play with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Field Yates of ESPN reports the Patriots are signing Seferian-Jenkins to a one-year contract.

A former second-round pick out of Washington, Seferian-Jenkins played three years in Tampa Bay before being released following a DUI arrest.

He landed in New York and played two years for the Jets, then signed a two-year deal with Jacksonville ahead of last season. The Jags declined his second-year option, however. Seferian-Jenkins caught just 11 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown before landing on injured reserve.

Over the course of his career, Seferian-Jenkins has hauled in 116 passes for 1,160 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has a real chance to have a career year with New England following the retirement of Rob Gronkowski, provided he stays healthy.
