Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young is quickly approaching public enemy No. 1 status in the Big Apple. His otherworldly performances in Atlanta’s first-round playoff series against the New York Knicks coupled with jabs being traded between the guard and Knicks fans added another layer to this.

Young was especially good during Atlanta’s blowout series-clinching win over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden Wednesday evening. The star guard scored a game-high 36 points in a 103-89 victory.

As the game was coming to a conclusion, Trae Young decided to go for the dagger. That included attempting a three-pointer pretty much from the midcourt logo with Atlanta clearly already headed for the win. What did Mr. Young do after making said shot? Well, watch his antics below.

Now, that’s what we’d call the NBA of petty right there. Disrespectful, too.

Young’s performance during this five-game series was also pretty darn disrespectful. He joined Michael Jordan as the only players with three consecutive 30-point playoff games at Madison Square Garden.

All said, Young averaged 29.2 points and 9.8 assists in the series.

The obvious backdrop was an incident in Game 2 that saw a Knicks fan spit in the direction of Young — leading to his expulsion from future events at MSG.

Young didn’t forget about that, either.

Yeah, an NBA superstar was born in this series. His name is Trae Young!
