The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated outfielder Kole Calhoun (strained left hamstring) from the 60-day injured list Saturday and placed Asdrubal Cabrera (right hamstring strain) on the 10-day injured list.

The team also recalled infielder-outfielder Andrew Young from Triple-A Reno, designated outfielder Nick Heath for assignment and optioned right-handed pitcher Taylor Widener to Reno.

Calhoun, 33, has batted .292 this season with two homers and five RBIs, but in only 48 at-bats. His last appearance was in a 5-1 win against San Diego on April 27. He is a lifetime .249 hitter with 158 career home runs in stints with the Los Angeles Angels (2012-19) and D-Backs (2020-21).

Cabrera, 35, is hitting .240 with five home runs and 28 RBIs over 63 games.

Young, 27, has hit .220 with four home runs and nine RBIs in 33 games this season for Arizona, while 27-year-old Heath batted .143 in 20 games.

In 18 appearances (six starts) over the last two big-league seasons, both with the Diamondbacks, the 26-year-old Widener has a 3.35 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings.
