Dylan Raiola has finally made a decision about his future in college football. It’s absolutely stunning in the grand scheme of things.

The five-star quarterback recruit and No. 6 overall player in the Class of 2024 has flipped from the Georgia Bulldogs to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He made the announcement on social media Monday.

This is an absolutely huge get for Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers. In fact, Raiola is the first five-star recruit to head to Lincoln since Baker Steinkuhler in the Class of 2008.

Per 247 Sports, Raiola ranks as the second-best quarterback in the Class of 2024 behind Julian Sayin. He has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Raiola took an official visit to Lincoln this past weekend. He had visited campus a whopping seven times between June of 2021 and March of 2023. Raiola initially committed to Ohio State before flipping to Georgia. He is the son of all-time great Cornhuskers center Dominic Raiola, which likely played a role in the decision-making process.

Raiola threw for 2,666 yards with 34 touchdowns and one interception as a senior in high school in Georgia, completing 63.2 percent of his throws. Raiola will likely be Nebraska’s starting quarterback as a true freshman.

This amounts to a major win for the aforementioned Rhule after he took over as the Cornhuskers’ head coach following a disastrous tenure with the Carolina Panthers.

Nebraska finished this past regular season with a 5-7 record, losing its final four games. Heinrich Haarberg, Chubba Purdy and Jeff Sims shared duties at quarterback, throwing a mere 10 touchdowns compared to 16 interceptions.
