While San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore understands his future with the team is in doubt, the veteran believes the franchise is in good hands with Colin Kaepernick (via NFL.com).
He’s not broke. I’ll put anything on this man. He’ll be back next year. He’ll be back next year.
We just couldn’t get that gel this year. We just have too many people hurt. That’s what hurt us this whole year.
Gore reiterated that he would like to remain with the 49ers. He also indicated that he understands if the team wants to give young running back Carlos Hyde an opportunity to start. As for Kaepernick, it sounds like Gore has his back, which makes the 31-year-old running back a true team player.
