The Milwaukee Bucks just hosted their first NBA Finals game in a half century this past Sunday, defeating the Phoenix Suns in the process.

With Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. looking to even the series up at two Wednesday evening, interest in the Bucks is at an all-time high in Wisconsin.

How much so? Tickets for Game 4 are going for as much as $14,890.00, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. In addition to this, standing-room only tickets are going for $450.00 on StubHub.

This is an absolutely eye-opening figure given that nation-wide interest in the 2021 NBA Finals hasn’t really been there with these two mid-market teams meeting up. As for the historical significance, it’s interesting to compare to previous high-priced games.

Back in 2019, Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors in Oakland saw tickets go for as much as $50,507.50 each.

While this pales in comparison, it’s important to note that the dynastic Warriors were among the most-popular teams in NBA history during their run of five consecutive Finals appearances, joining the Michael Jordan-led 1990s Chicago Bulls in that exclusive company.

As for the Bucks and Suns, each team is looking to make history.

Phoenix has not won an NBA title since joining the Association back in 1968-69. As for the Bucks, their only championship came back in 1970-71. One of these teams will be making history when all is said and done.
