NFL, predictions
Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Draft is in the books and with the schedule out for the 2020 regular season, football fans are already counting down the days until the NFL returns. On the latest Reckless Speculation podcast, TC and NFL editor Matt Johnson dive into their projected records for the upcoming NFL season.

Every season we see a few teams surprise and become instant contenders. The San Francisco 49ers accomplished the unthinkable this past year, going from a four-win team in 2018 to falling just inches short of a Super Bowl title in 2019. We’ve got our eyes on a few teams capable of pulling off a similar turnaround in 2020, which we dive into on the latest podcast.

Of course, plenty of teams are going to fall short of expectations this upcoming season. It’s become a yearly tradition for the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns, both clubs coming out of the offseason with fans feeling excited. But we’ve got our eyes on a few other teams that might not live up to the hype.

On the latest episode of Reckless Speculation, we dive into our predictions for the upcoming NFL season and take a deep dive into a few teams.

Will the Buffalo Bills win the AFC East?

The window of opportunity is wide open for the Bills to take the AFC East. After losing Tom Brady, who tormented Buffalo for two decades, the New England Patriots are seemingly destined for a disappointing year. On the latest podcast, TC and Matt discuss whether or not the Bills are ready to step up and claim the AFC East crown in 2020.

Will the Kansas City Chiefs repeat as Super Bowl champions?

The Chiefs could become the NFL’s next dynasty with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. A few strong additions through the NFL Draft could even provide this team with more talent than it had in 2019. But there are lingering issues that could keep this team from repeating.

Can the Tennessee Titans make it back to the playoffs?

The Titans went on a remarkable run late in the 2019 season that led them to the AFC Championship Game. After falling just short of a trip to the Super Bowl, Tennessee brought back Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry for a shot at redemption. The guys spend time debating whether or not the Titans can repeat their success this season or if they’ll even come close.

Are the Dallas Cowboys a dark horse Super Bowl contender?

Everyone loves to talk about the Cowboys finally breaking through before each season and yet this team falls short. Could that change under Mike McCarthy and with all of the additions Jerry Jones made to improve this team? TC and Matt close out the show by discussing just where the Cowboys stand before the 2020 season.
