Ben Roethlisberger chastised by Gov. Tom Wolf for getting haircut at barbershop

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made headlines Monday for his long-awaited haircut. But it’s drawn the ire of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf.

Gov. Wolf chastised Ben Roethlisberger for going to salon amid pandemic

Roethlisberger shared video of himself, sans mask, at a barbershop Monday. He desperately needed the service, to be sure.

The big problem? Salons and barbershops have not been given the green light to reopen yet in Pennsylvania.

Governor Wolf isn’t happy about this situation. He shared his displeasure and chastised Big Ben for putting himself in harm’s way.

“My concern is just a general concern and anybody who puts himself or herself into harm’s way is something I think we ought to try to avoid,” Wolf said in response to a question about Roethlisberger specifically, per PennLive.com. “And when you go to something like a barbershop and you’re not protected, I don’t care who you are. The chances of that virus wreaking havoc on your life increases.

“I don’t think any Pennsylvanian ought to take that chance. I certainly don’t want to take that chance myself.”

The Cut N Edge barbershop Roethlisberger went to for his big makeover is in Allegheny County. This is a county that is still in the yellow phase of the state’s restrictions due to COVID-19. This stage specifically does not allow for barbershops or salons to be open for business.
