The Philadelphia Eagles selected quarterback Jalen Hurts 53rd overall Friday night. Starting quarterback Carson Wentz could have been upset about that pick, but you’d never know if he was based on his response on Twitter.
Showing the utmost class, Wentz welcomed Hurts to Philly with open arms.
The Eagles’ decision to draft Hurts early in Round 2 caught everyone by surprise, to be sure.
Most expected Philadelphia to continue providing Wentz with weapons on offense or to draft more defensive playmakers. Instead, they picked up a quarterback who should be a backup for years to come, barring another season-ending injury to Wentz.
