Sixers All-Star Ben Simmons out at least three more weeks

Ben Simmons

The reeling Philadelphia 76ers got some more bad news as it relates to All-Star point guard Ben Simmons. The team announced on Wednesday that Simmons (back) will miss at least three more weeks after suffering a nerve impingement back on Feb. 22.

Philadelphia heads into Wednesday’s game with a 38-26 record and as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. The team has posted a 15-16 mark since Christmas with head coach Brett Brown being firmly on the hot seat.

In addition to this, the Sixers are 3-4 in the seven games since Simmons suffered said injury. That included a brutal road loss to the Stephen Curry-less Golden State Warriors this past weekend.

With Simmons and fellow All-Star Joel Embiid still sidelined, this season could potentially go down in flames in Philadelphia. Wednesday’s news does nothing to dispel this notion.
