The Houston Astros are reportedly looking to bring back a familiar face to the clubhouse, reportedly offering outfielder Hunter Pence a chance to return to the organization where it all began.

According to FOX 26’s Mark Berman, the Astros have made an offer to their former All-Star outfielder. Pence, who played in Houston from 2007-’11, is coming off a bounceback season with the Texas Rangers.

Pence made his MLB debut in 2007 with the Astros and quickly became a favorite among the fan base. Across five seasons in Houston, he hit 103 home runs and posted a .290/.339/.479 slash line with 377 RBI.

Houston traded Pence, a two-time All-Star at the time, to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2011, He was traded to the Giants a year later and went on to win two World Series rings with San Francisco.

Pence was named to the All-Star team for the fourth time in his career this past season. He hit 18 homers with a .910 OPS across 83 games. If he decides to rejoin the Astros, Pence could function as a fourth outfielder and the team’s designated hitter.
