Highlands High School in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, paid tribute to the late Jared Lorenzen, who played his high school football at the school, Friday night.

Lorenzen went on to start at the University of Kentucky before taking his talents to the NFL. To help honor him on Friday night, the University of Kentucky marching band was in attendance.

The band played “My Old Kentucky Home” as the school retired Lorenzen’s No. 22 jersey.

Lorenzen sadly passed away on July 3, 2019, after health complications led to an infection. He was just 38 years of age. May he rest in peace.
