WATCH: Pete Alonso hits 474-foot homer into third deck

Minnesota Twins reliever Matt Magill had absolutely no idea what hit him at Target Field Wednesday afternoon.

Already in the midst of a blowout loss to the New York Mets, Magill served up one of the most monstrous homers you’ll ever see.

It came off the bat of star rookie and reigning Home Run Derby winner Pete Alonso and it has to be seen to be believed.

A third-deck shot. Think about that for a second. The third deck. Alonso is among the most powerful rookies we’ve ever seen. He reminds us of a young Mark McGwire from 30-plus years ago when the one-time single-season home run champ knocked nearly 50 out of the park as a rookie.

Alonso, 24, entered Wednesday’s action hitting .272 with 30 homers and 69 RBI. He could very well break Aaron Judge’s record for homers from a rookie. It’s just insane.
