Pelicans GM seems to take shot at Anthony Davis

To say that things did not go swimmingly for Anthony Davis and his former New Orleans Pelicans team prior to a trade to the Lakers would be an understatement.

It was just this past season that Davis was fined by the NBA for publicly requesting a trade. From that point on, he separated himself from the organization. It led to Davis being sent to the Lakers in a blockbuster deal spearheaded by new front office head David Griffin.

In talking about how he’s looking to build the team, Griffin seemingly took a shot at Mr. Davis.

We don’t really have to read in between the lines too much here. Griffin was brought on to change the culture in New Orleans. That included trading one of the most-skilled players in franchise history.

In turn, the former Cavaliers general manager has brought on the likes of Zion Williamson, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and Brandon Ingram. Even more so than the talent, he has seemingly focused on high-character individuals.

Griffin’s shot at Davis magnifies this even further.
