Magic Johnson made a stunning announcement on Tuesday night, quitting his job as the president of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The move stunned the NBA community and was the main story featured by all the national outlets.

After the news broke, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Johnson had never really committed to the job to begin with.

Less than 24 hours later, Johnson took to his Twitter account to thank the Lakers for his opportunity, and to say he’ll be a “Laker for life.”

So, it’s not surprising that Lakers Nation didn’t exactly react well to Johnson’s statement.

It may take years to really unpack what went down behind the scenes the past couple of years.
