Report: Miami’s Josh Richardson could still miss two weeks after clean MRI

The Miami Heat got some good news concerning guard Josh Richardson’s groin injury, but that news comes with a caveat that could doom the team’s playoff chances.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Richardson’s MRI came back clean, yet he could still miss up to two weeks.

Richardson injured his groin on Tuesday and was unable to play last night. Teammate Dwyane Wade recently said the injury is “definitely” concerning, per the Miami Herald.

Miami is currently the nine seed in the east, just one-half game behind the Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic for the final spot.

Richardson has been a key weapon for the Heat all year, averaging 16.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 41.1% from the floor and 35.7% from behind the arc.
