The Boston Celtics might be looking to bring home another title this coming June with the likes of Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum leading the charge.

However, the team took time of out its day Monday evening to pay its respects to a man that helped get the Celtics to where they are.

Prior to hosting Isaiah Thomas and the Denver Nuggets, Boston paid tribute to former great Isaiah Thomas. It was something special.

Thomas, 30, starred for the Celtics for parts of three seasons. A legit MVP candidate back in 2016-17, he averaged a whopping 28.9 points per game that season.

Unfortunately, Thomas’ time in Boston came to an end prior to the start of the 2017-18 season when he was shipped off to Cleveland in the Kyrie Irving deal.

Now in Denver, Thomas has fallen completely out of the team’s rotation. He’s averaging just 8.6 points per game in nine outings.
