Jared Cook to finally ink deal with Saints, per report

The New Orleans Saints will finally sign tight end Jared Cook on Tuesday, ending speculation he might land in New England to replace Rob Gronkowski.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports the two sides will put ink to paper on a two-year contract worth $15.5 million, including $8 million fully guaranteed in 2019.

Last season, Cook had a career year playing with Derek Carr in Jon Gruden’s offense for the Oakland Raiders. He caught 68 passes for 898 yards and six touchdowns.

As we’ve recently broken down in some detail, Cook should provide some jet fuel to an already potent Saints offense due to his speed. He’s a matchup nightmare, and now he’s going to be playing with the most accurate passer in the league.
