The Portland Blazers are getting some front-court help ahead of this weekend’s All-Star Break.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Blazers have signed recently-waived former New York Knicks center Enes Kanter.

This is no small free-agent signing. Still only 26 years old, Kanter packs a big offensive punch down low.

He was averaging 14.0 points and 10.5 rebounds on 54 percent shooting from the field prior to being waived by New York last week. He did all of that in less than 26 minutes of action per game.

Kanter now joins a solid center group in Portland that includes Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins. The two are averaging a combined 21.7 points and 8.9 rebounds on the season.

Portland heads into Wednesday’s game against Golden State with a 33-23 record and as the fourth seed out west.
