Bryce Harper social media activity ‘writing on the wall?’

Bryce Harper

With spring training opening up this week, anything involving Bryce Harper is getting scrutinized to no end, including what he’s done on social media.

On that note, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson shared that he and other Caps players were suddenly unfollowed by Harper on Twitter. He’s viewing that as a potential bad omen that Harper won’t be returning to the Washington Nationals.

“I know a couple of us got the unfollow the other day so I don’t know if that’s writing on the wall or what,” Wilson said. “He’s been a leader in this city for a long time. I know he kinda jumped the Caps ship with the Vegas bandwagon there with where he’s from, but it’s always been fun, and I’m sure he’s going to make the best decision for him and his family and his future.”

This isn’t the only social media post that’s sparked some speculation. Manny Machado, whose name is inexorably linked to Harper right now, posted something to his Instagram account Monday that made headlines nationally, too.

The latest Bryce Harper rumors have him supposedly headed to San Francisco. We’ll see about that, but at this point we just hope he’s on any actual roster come Opening Day.
