2019 Heisman odds: Trevor Lawrence now the favorite over Tua Tagovailoa

Following an incredible performance in the National Championship Game, Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence is now favored over Tua Tagovailoa to win the 2019 Heisman Trophy.

OddsShark put out updated 2019 Heisman odds Tuesday morning showing Lawrence with a slight lead over Tagovailoa, and Jake Fromm coming in as a distant third.

Personally, I still think Tagovailoa is the pick. It’s just a matter of the type of offensive output we can expect both players to pump out next season. Tagovailoa unleashed deep bombs (like this) all year long and was utilized far more in the passing game than Lawrence was.

However, the Tigers have some incoming receivers next year that could serve as jet fuel for their offense. And given the way Lawrence has the green light to go bombs away in the title game against the mighty Crimson Tide, perhaps he’ll have more leeway to do the same next season. Assuming he wins the starting quarterback job again, that is.
