Patriots reportedly re-sign WR Corey Coleman

Give us all of your former Cleveland Browns wide receivers. On the very same day that Josh Gordon practiced for the first time as a member of the New England Patriots, the team has re-signed the player he originally took a roster spot from.

That comes in the form of fellow former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Corey Coleman.

This is just great stuff right here. Not only did New England release Coleman after it acquired his former teammate, it signed him up from the Buffalo Bills following a trade from Cleveland to Western New York just weeks ago.

It’s quite astonishing to realize the game of musical chairs New England continues to play at wide receiver. It’s attempting to find the right mix for Tom Brady with Julian Edelman suspended and after the team traded Brandin Cooks during the offseason.

Whether Gordon and Coleman prove themselves worthy of New England’s confidence remains to be seen. But we’ll find out soon enough. Meanwhile, Cleveland has a mere fifth-round pick to show for trading both receivers. Fun.
