The Colorado Rockies and Cincinnati Reds combined forces on Wednesday for a play that’s almost certainly coming to a blooper reel near you.
It started when Cincinnati outfielders Billy Hamilton and Scott Schebler couldn’t haul in a drive to the right-center field gap off the bat of Carlos Gonzalez. From there, it only got worse.

That may be the most bizarre version of the “anything you can do, I can do better” game that we’ve ever seen. Nobody wanted to be one-upped.
If someone wanted to dub some Benny Hill music over that, it would certainly be appropriate.
