Rockets’ Chris Paul speaks out about the Texas school shooting

In what has becoming an all-too common sight, teenagers at Santa Fe High School in Texas were seen running from yet another school shooting Friday morning.

A fellow student opened fire in an art class, killing 10 children. It’s yet another mass shooting that seems to be an American-specific problem.

Those in the sports world did not spare us their thoughts about the pointless losses of life. That includes Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul, who is preparing for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals this weekend.

Paul didn’t necessarily feel like talking about basketball. Instead, as a Texas resident, his focus was on the school shooting.

Here’s what Paul said.

“First and foremost aside from the playoffs that’s going on which is minor compared to what’s taken place down in Santa Fe,” Paul said. “Our prayers go out to the victims and the families…It’s scary that that’s becoming the norm here. We got to do something about it.”

A lot of people in this nation are feeling helpless and don’t understand how the powers to be aren’t doing anything about this epidemic.

Obviously, Paul is one of those individuals.
