Warriors GM: It’s possible Stephen Curry will play Game 1 against the Pelicans

Now that the defending champion Golden State Warriors have made quick work of the San Antonio Spurs, they are prepared to take on a red-hot New Orleans Pelicans squad in the conference semifinals starting Saturday.

Out the past five weeks after suffering a sprained MCL, two-time MVP Stephen Curry could potentially make his return to the hardwood for that game. According to Warriors GM Bob Myers, it’s a real possibility.

Having returned to practice last weekend, Curry seems to be just fine. There doesn’t look to be any limitations to said knee. That’s a good thing. Though, Golden State isn’t going to bring him back until he’s 100 percent. That’s been the team’s stance all along.

With Curry sidelined in Round 1, fellow All-Stars Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson averaged a combined 50.8 points in five games against the Spurs. Should Curry not find his way back for Game 1, the two will have to continue stepping up.
