Report: Eagles discussing White House visit but have not committed

The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly are in the midst of potentially setting up a visit to the White House and President Donald Trump after winning Super Bowl LII. The team is discussing the matter and has not made any commitment one way or another, per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Some pro teams, like the Golden State Warriors, have opted not to visit with President Trump due to political differences.

The Eagles feature some players who have been opposed to some of the things the current White House has promoted. But, per Rapoport, the team hopes to potentially use this as an opportunity to promote dialogue about social issues, rather than skipping it.

Whatever your political views, it seems to me that that measured, respectful dialogue is the best way to express them. Philadelphia’s players could set a strong example that it’s okay to be opposed to certain things while at the same time respectfully facing those who see things differently.
