LOOK: Cardinals’ Larry Fitzgerald pays visit to ailing Senator John McCain

Larry Fitzgerald

Former presidential candidate and current Arizona Senator John McCain is battling for his life after being diagnosed with a brain tumor late last year.

McCain has been secluded with his family at their Arizona cabin over the past couple months receiving treatment. But the overall prognosis for this type of cancer, glioblastoma, is not good. As someone who lost his grandfather to this disease, I know full well just how serious it is. Former U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy and Beau Biden, son of former Vice President Joe Biden, both passed away from this disease.

With McCain in failing health, Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald took time from his offseason to visit the senator, as shared by McCain’s wife, Cindy.

Politics aside, we’re all hoping for the best possible outcome for Mr. McCain. A Vietnam War vet, he is a true American hero. Fitzgerald taking time out of his day to visit McCain is all sorts of awesome.

A former Walter Payton Man of the Year winner, we already know the type of personality the all-time great receiver boasts. This is just the latest example of that.
