Former Jets LB David Harris announces retirement

After playing for 10 seasons with the New York Jets and last year with the New England Patriots, linebacker David Harris has announced his retirement from the NFL.

Harris’ announcement comes via his representatives at Sports Stars.

Harris, who turned 34 years old in January, was an original second-round pick by the Jets in 2007. He started in 154 games for the Jets, recording 35 sacks, 1,087 tackles, six interceptions and four fumble recoveries.

A brief stint with the Patriots and limited snaps saw Harris tally up another 1.5 sacks and 22 combined tackles in 2017. Slated to become a free agent, Harris has apparently decided to call it quits in the NFL.

We wish him the best as he enters the world of retirement.
