Vikings’ Adam Thielen reportedly suffered fractures in his back last week

Adam Thielen

The Minnesota Vikings will have breakout receiver Adam Thielen active for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles after he was surprisingly listed on the injury report during the latter stages of the practice week.

Officially, the Vikings said that Thielen was dealing with a lower-back injury. Now, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Pro Bowler actually suffered a couple slight fractures in his back last week against the Saints.

Talk about playing through pain.

Thielen recorded six receptions for 74 yards in Minnesota’s divisional round victory. He took a back seat to Stefon Diggs, who came away with one of the biggest plays in franchise history to send the Vikings to Sunday’s conference tittle. Needless to say, Thielen’s injury played a role in this.

Philadelphia is expecting a low of 41 degrees on Sunday. So cold weather won’t contribute to Thielen’s injury. And he should be good to go.

The former undrafted free agent from Minnesota State recorded 91 receptions for 1,276 yards during the regular season.
