The NFL world watched in horror as Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier was carted off of the field during Monday Night Football.
There was a scary period of time afterward when Shazier’s family and teammates did not know the severity of his back injury. All we knew is that linebacker appeared to be immobilized and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The positive is Shazier will not require surgery to his back. For that, Shazier is grateful. He’s also grateful for the outpouring support, prayers and well wishes he has received.

At this time, Shazier remains under watch at the Cincinnati hospital until it is deemed safe for him to return to Pittsburgh.
Though, there remains no estimate as to when Shazier will be healthy enough to resume playing this year.
In the grand scheme of things, that does not matter. Things could have been much worse and we are sure Shazier is comforted knowing how many people are praying for him.
