Jeweler alleges Joe Mixon owes $85K for pre-draft splurge

Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon in NFL Week 7

Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon reportedly went on a $190,000 jewelry shopping spree prior to the 2017 NFL Draft. The problem is, Mixon allegedly still owes $85,000 of that bill to jewelry broker, Eleow Hunt, according to TMZ Sports.

And the interesting thing here is, that Mixon supposedly racked up the bill before he even knew his fate in the draft, per TMZ. Mixon fell on draft boards due to a an alleged domestic violence incident he was involved in in 2014.

Reportedly, Mixon only gave the jeweler approximately $100,000 for the jewels. The purchase consisted of the following items, according to TMZ:

  • Custom diamond Rolex ($25,000)
  • Custom diamond necklace ($20,000)
  • Second Rolex watch ($16,000)
  • Men’s gold and diamond tennis bracelet ($35,000)
  • Gold and diamond dog chain ($22,000)

Hunt reportedly has been trying to reach Mixon to pay the remaining balance. TMZ Sports said they contacted Mixon’s representative and he said he is not aware of the lawsuit.

Mixon, who is currently dealing with a concussion, was signed to a four-year, $5.45 million contract by the Bengals.

It should be interesting to see if anything further derives from this alleged lawsuit.
