UConn already recruiting Kobe Bryant’s daughter?

The UConn women’s basketball team is pretty much the holy grail when it comes to college sports. Here’s a program that has won 10 national titles since the 2000 season. Head coach Geno Auriemma could coach any men’s college team or even in the NBA if he wanted to.

On the other side of the ledger, former Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players to ever suit up on the hardwood.

Apparently his daughter, the 11-year old Gianna, has inherited some of his father’s mad basketball skills. How good is she? Well, UConn just recently hosted her for what seems to be an early recruitment.

“Mamba and Mini-Mamba hit up Pauley Pavilion in Westwood on Tuesday night to watch the Huskies take on UCLA,” TMZ Sports reported. “They sat courtside and they visited the players and head coach Geno Auriemma afterward.”

Nicely done, Geno.

TMZ also posted a video of the younger Bryant, who Kobe calls “Mambacita,” balling big time against her father.

We’ve seen pre-teens recruited around both the college basketball and college football worlds. It would not be a shock of the Huskies had similar motives here.
