Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr believes his team will have home-field advantage in Mexico City this weekend. The Raiders return to Mexico’s Estadio Azteca to play the New England Patriots.

After being heavily cheered on by Raiders-clad fans last year, Carr had this to share about returning to the warm atmosphere of Estadio Azteca.

“It felt like a big-time home game,” Carr said, via Chris Booker of Las Vegas Review-Journal. “The atmosphere is a playoff atmosphere. It’s loud … They want us to win. You can tell by looking in the stands how many Raider fans were there that it’s definitely a home game for us.”

It would be an understatement to say that Raiders fans can easily look like home team fans, even on the road. The Raiders possess one of the most passionate and dominating fan bases in the NFL.

Though, Patriots fans can also pack a punch. Quarterback Tom Brady and Co. also draw some pretty massive fan support.

If the Raiders do have home-field advantage here, it boils down to geography. It sure is a heck of a lot easier to travel from the Oakland and Las Vegas to Mexico then New England.

Either way, this should be a fantastic and potentially very high-scoring game.
