Report: 49ers sign veteran CB Leon Hall

With a struggling secondary, the San Francisco 49ers have gone to the free agent pool and signed veteran cornerback Leon Hall.

Hall, a 10-year veteran, was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2007 and remained with that team through 2015. He played with the New York Giants in 2016. Hall, 32, put up his best performance with the Bengals back in 2009, recording 71 tackles, 24 passes defended and six interceptions.

At 0-5, the 49ers have been one of the league’s worst teams through the season’s first five weeks. San Francisco’s passing defense has been one of the root causes. The 49ers have allowed 1,249 passing yards, the league’s fifth worst total.
