Marcus Mariota questionable for Week 5 against Dolphins

Marcus Mariota

There’s a chance Marcus Mariota won’t miss a game after suffering a hamstring injury during last week’s loss to the Houston Texans. The Tennessee Titans have listed Mariota as questionable heading into the team’s Week 5 game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Titans were blown out last weekend, and it would have mattered not if Mariota played the entire game. The team’s defense was overwhelmed from the start by Deshaun Watson and Co., who scored 57 points when it was all said and done.

The upcoming game against Miami is a bird of another feather. It could become a defensive struggle, with both teams coming into it with some trouble on the offensive side of the ball. To this point in the season, Mariota hasn’t taken the steps towards super-stardom many assumed he’d take. Instead, completed just 60 percent of his passes while throwing three touchdowns and three interceptions.

If Mariota is unable to play, then it looks like the team was smart to sign Brandon Weeden in case of emergency. Though, we’re not confident in the team’s ability to win with either him or backup Matt Cassel under center.
