According to WSB-TV 2 in Atlanta, Ga., police said Nixon was on his way out the door Saturday morning to play golf but never arrived at the course for his scheduled tee time.

Nixon is famous for robbing Pittsburgh Pirates’ Andy Van Slyke from hitting a home run back in 1992, thus preserving a 13-game win streak for the Atlanta Braves. He’s also known for stealing the most bases of any player who never played in an All-Star Game.

Nixon played for 10 teams during his 17 seasons in MLB. He finished his career with 620 swiped bags, along with a .270 average, 11 home runs and 318 RBI.

He has struggled with addiction in the past, dating all the way back to his playing days. Most recently, Nixon was arrested for possession of crack cocaine back in 2013 and arrested again in 2015 for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and permitting an unlicensed person to drive.
