Lady Gaga to perform on the roof at Super Bowl LI?

We’ve seen some pretty outlandish halftime performances during the Super Bowl in recent years. Katy Perry’s left shark, right shark routine still has some of us stumped. It’s somewhat of a rite of passage. The music world’s top performers attempting to one-up one another on football’s grandest of stages.

Set to headline the halftime show for Super Bowl LI in Houston next month, it appears that Lady Gaga is planning on performing on the roof of NRG Stadium.

If that sounds unsafe, that’s pretty much because it is. The roof at this particular stadium sits 250 feet above the ground and isn’t exactly what we’d call a stable surface to perform on.

Despite this, Gaga seems more than willing to take the risk.

From Page Six.

“They’re writing up multiple plans about how to safely get her on the roof, including potentially [cutting] a hole in the ceiling of the dome,” says a source with knowledge of the arrangements.”

Okay, so the plan is now to deface NRG Stadium. I guess that wouldn’t be much different than other musicians defacing their industry with some of the most ridiculous performances we’ve seen in music history.

Still, Gaga appears willing to take this to an entirely new level.
