Dez Bryant on the Cowboys: ‘We built something that can last’

The Dallas Cowboys unfortunately fell to the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs. But it was not for lack of effort from a team that has to be feeling good about itself moving forward.

Wide receiver Dez Bryant, who will be playing in this Sunday’s Pro Bowl, weighed on the Cowboys’ 2016 season.

“We built something that can last,” Bryant said, via the Dallas Morning News. “It can only get better.”

Bryant is absolutely correct. Rookie quarterback Dak Prescott exceeded all expectations and helped lead Dallas to a brilliant 13-3 season. Ezekiel Elliott dominated in his rookie season en route to leading the league in rushing yards. Meanwhile, Bryant rebounded from an injury-plagued 2015 season.

This trio is one of the most-talented in the league. And this is only the beginning. Bryant is also ready to put last season behind him and get started with the next.

“You got to look forward to next year. We have a great opportunity to do something special. We got something bright. We got something very special in the future.”

Cowboys fans will get to enjoy Prescott, Elliott and Bryant once more when all three suit up to represent the NFC in this weekend’s Pro Bowl. Then, it’s back to the drawing board for Bryant who will enter his eighth season as a member of the Cowboys.
