Chiefs will be without Jeremy Maclin and Dee Ford against Broncos

The Kansas City Chiefs are going into Sunday’s matchup against their AFC West rival Denver Broncos shorthanded. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and pass rusher Dee Ford will not be in the lineup as they deal with injuries, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

It’s already been a rough season for Maclin, who has tallied just 30 catches for 376 yards and two touchdowns. He will miss his third straight game this weekend.

Losing Ford in this upcoming divisional tilt could prove costly. He’s been Kansas City’s top pass rusher in 2016 with 10 sacks, one forced fumble and 32 tackles. Thankfully veteran Justin Houston is working his way back into action. He finally played last weekend after missing the first 10 weeks recovering from an ACL injury.

As they say in the NFL, it’s “next man up” time for the Chiefs. Tied with the Broncos in the AFC West and a game behind the Oakland Raiders with a 7-3 record, a loss here would really put Kansas City behind the proverbial eight ball heading into the stretch run.
